About Us
Carrie Ohlinger is a certified professional trainer and the owner of Heritage Canine. Dogs have always played a major role throughout Carrie’s life. At a very young age she knew she wanted to work with animals, and had a particular love for dogs. She worked at a local dog kennel and veterinarian’s office through high school and upon graduating she attended college to study veterinary technology. After realizing there were so many behavior issues (some leading to health problems) with dogs that could have been prevented with proper training early on, her interest in dog training developed. That decision led her to realize her true passion was to work with dogs and their owners through obedience training in order to make life more enjoyable for both.

After graduating from The National K-9 School for Dog Trainers in 2004, she was asked to join the staff. Carrie spent eight years working as a trainer and assistant instructor interacting with the clients and students. She enjoyed the time working there and meeting so many wonderful people, and of course, dogs.

Carrie is a professional member of The International Association of Canine Professionals (IACP), an evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen program, and a member of the National K-9 Dog Trainers Association.

She and her husband have a daughter, two dogs (both boxers), and three cats. Carrie grew up in Pataskala, Ohio.
